The hike organized for citizens by the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve was met with great interest. About 75 people took part. The tourist hike to the rock monastery above the village of Khan Krum is dedicated to the Day of Parks and the initiative of the Bulgarian Forest Association to promote activities in the forests. People of different ages from Shumen and the country participated. During the walk, they saw various wild orchids and other interesting protected species and were introduced to the work of the employees of the Directorate.<\/div>\n

We appeal not to harvest wild species because they are protected by the Biodiversity Act and their harvesting is subject to sanctions!<\/div>\n
