"Summer without fires" for children from Shumen

60 children from three summer schools in Shumen participated in the lesson "Summer without Fires" organized by the North-Eastern State Enterprise, the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve and the Regional Forestry and Forestry Service-Shumen. Within two hours, the children learned and played in three separate centers, where the lessons were led by firefighters, Park employees and foresters. The goal of the lesson is for the children to understand that forest fires are dangerous and not only trees die in them, but also many plants and animals, and the fire often threatens populated areas.near forest areas. The RZPBN-Shumen team explained to the children the dangers and demonstrated how to act during a fire and why speed and resourcefulness are important in crisis situations.
In the second center, foresters from DGS-Shumen and DGS-Palamara told the children about the fires in the last year and how long it takes to create a new forest. The children had the opportunity to put out a real fire with the farm's fire department and backpack sprinklers. The foresters explained to the children that it takes a long time to completely put out a fire, and if the fire is in a mountainous area, the water is carried on their backs.
At the third base, employees of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve introduced the young students to the useful side of fire. They were shown how to make a fire that does not endanger the forest and people, they learned how to properly arrange firewood and how to completely extinguish it before leaving for a picnic. The big surprise for the kids was that everyone had the opportunity to make their own marshmallows. According to the children, this is the most delicious food they have ever tried. Everyone unanimously decided that the next time they go out with their parents on a picnic, they will definitely monitor whether the rules for fire in the forest are followed.
