Open Day

Children from the "Pchelitsa" preschool presented the play "Fire in the Forest" on the occasion of the Open Day at the Directorate of the "Shumen Plateau" Nature Park. Experts from the Regional Forestry Department played entertaining games with the children, and trees were planted in the "Kyoskovete" forest park.
The director of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park, Eng. Vasil Vassilev, presented to journalists the regulations for access to Biserna Cave, which are fully consistent with the protection of bats.and karst. The cave will open for visitors on April 8, 2019 and will be open until May 20. The next access period will begin in August and will last until the end of October. Groups for visits will be accepted only after prior registration by phone 054/800-765 or by e-mail shplsto@hotmail.com
The visit will only take place on weekdays.
The first group will be welcomed at 10 am. The stay will be about 1 hour. A total of 4 groups will be allowed per day. They must consist of a minimum of 8 people, and the maximum is 12 people. The tourist service will cost 10 BGN per person, and payment will be made on site, during the visit itself.
Experts from the Park recommend reaching Biserna Cave on foot. Signposts have been placed. Employees of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve will instruct visitors on the safe passage through Biserna. The route inside is about 800 meters long.
