The lesson "Winter in the Forest" with first-graders from the "P.Volov" Secondary School was conducted by the forest educators from the "Shumen Plateau" Nature Reserve. The children strengthened their knowledge about wild animals and how they survive in winter. The coniferous tree species that can be seen on the Shumen Plateau were presented. The children learned more about the profession of a forester and the care that is taken for forest inhabitants during the cold months. The first-graders made their own Christmas cards, which were decorated thematically with Christmas trees and deer.
Forest educators from the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve promised to help the children place special birdhouses in the forest. They were made by the first-graders together with their parents on the occasion of Father's Day. Suitable places for the houses are yet to be chosen so that the children can place them.
