Action to renovate the disabled walkway

On Saturday, October 24, the Podobri Foundation, together with the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, are organizing a volunteer campaign to improve the trail for people with disabilities, which starts from the Astronomical Observatory.
We invite anyone who wishes to join the volunteer effort to install new signs and repair the railings, which will serve people with visual impairments.
The event will start at 10:00 a.m., and the meeting point is the Astronomical Observatory.
The initiative is organized under the “Green Academy” project, which is fully funded by TELUS Bulgaria, which annually sponsors socially significant projects that solve problems in the fields of healthcare, education and environmental protection. The “Green Academy” project of the “Podobri” Foundation aims to educate children and youth on the topic of environmental protection.
The specialized trail was created in 2008 under a project funded by the Agency for People with Disabilities. Braille signs are located along the route, through which blind citizens can learn more about the tree species in the Park. It has been repaired several times over the years, but currently the braille signs have been destroyed.
