Dangerous trees are being removed in the park

Dangerous trees are being removed along the trail in the area of the Bigora shelter. A total of 11 beech trees have been identified for removal by an interdepartmental commission composed of specialist foresters from the State Forest Service, the State Forest Service, the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve and experts from the Shumen Municipality. The urgent removal and transportation of the wood is being carried out in compliance with legal requirements.

The felling is necessary as a preventive measure, as last year and this year branches and trees fell on the path several times, which threatens the life and health of passing citizens. The railings of the bridge in the "Opera" area have also been partially destroyed. In this section - from the "Kyoskovete" forest park through the "Bigora" shelter to the "Rusalka" cave, the forest is old and the beech trees are nearly 130 years old. With this species, the signs of decay are not clearly expressed and the interdepartmental commission decided to remove the 25-meter trees on the upper side of the pedestrian walkway in the dangerous section in order to prevent possible accidents.
