On the occasion of Career Day, which was announced today at the "Trayko Simeonov" Secondary School in Shumen, sixth and seventh graders visited the Administrative Center of the "Shumen Plateau" Nature Reserve and got acquainted with the opportunities for recreation and tourism in the protected area. The school offers admission after the 7th grade in the specialty "Sports and Tourism Activities" and the Park Directorate is a partner in teaching. The children were shown educational films today, and experts from the Park explained the most important principles of nature conservation. The main tourist and cycling routes on the Shumen Plateau, sports opportunities, as well as information centers and park infrastructure were presented.
According to the signed agreement between the Sofia University "Trayko Simeonov" and the Directorate of the Nature Park, a lesson was also held with eighth graders. Various outdoor activities are to be implemented. Field activities with students from the "Sports and Tourism Activities" specialty are planned, as well as joint initiatives to maintain tourist routes.
