Employees of the Nature Park and the Shumen Regional Directorate cleaned shelters

The employees of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve and the Shumen Regional Forestry Department cleaned the areas of the Detelina and Temenuga shelters on the territory of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve. The action is dedicated to the Forest Week 2022, which this year is under the motto "I ♥ the forest!".

The shelters are some of the most visited on the Shumen plateau and have a covered area, gazebos, outdoor benches and tables. Serious pollution with household waste was also found around the approaches to the recreation areas, which were cleaned. Glass bottles were also found among the discarded plastics, and glass is dangerous in strong sunlight as it turns into a magnifying glass and can cause a fire in the forest. The employees of both institutions hope that visitors to the shelters will leave the park infrastructure unpolluted behind so that we can all enjoy a full-fledged recreation during our walks in the Park.

We remind you that on Saturday, April 9, the Municipality of Shumen and the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve call on citizens to join in cleaning up places outside the city limits and on the Shumen Plateau. Bags and gloves will be distributed at the information centers of the Park, as well as in front of the Municipal Youth Center. Containers for the collected waste will be available in the parking lot in front of the information center on the plateau, after the Grave of the Course Students at the bend on the road to the Old Town and at the truck parking lot in front of the entrance to the Kyoshkavete. If there are no containers in the area being cleaned, the bags should be taken out near the asphalt road.
