Bans have been introduced for forest roads in the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve

The movement of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles on the black forest roads on the territory of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve is prohibited, the Regional Forest Directorate - Shumen announced in its order. The ban applies to all types of vehicles, with the order stating that the mass movement of high-passenger cars, ATVs and motorcycles disturbs the peace of visitors to the Nature Park and destroys the forest roads.

Traffic is restricted for the next three months, until August 12. The order was issued at the request of the State Forestry Administration - Shumen. It is stated that poaching raids become more frequent with the end of the heating season, and the rich road network makes it difficult to protect this area. Other reasons for the ban are the preservation of dirt roads from the creation of ruts, the restoration of roads after logging and ensuring the peaceful and safe passage of pedestrian tourists.

Traffic is allowed on all asphalt roads and on the approaches to the tourist shelters. Bicycles, as well as vehicles of the TP DGS - Shumen and TP DGS - Preslav, of the structures of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Interior, the Environmental Inspectorate, are allowed on the forest roads in the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, but only when performing their official duties.
