Forest educators visited the "Pchelitsa" State Forestry School in Shumen. The team of the "Shumensko Plateau" State Forestry School and the Social Democratic Party, working for the green education of children, is joined by experts from the Shumen State Forestry School Neli Serafimova and Neli Dimitrova. Together with the children and teachers from the "Pchelitsa" State Forestry School, they discussed the basic rules for protecting forests from fires and pollution. During the activity, the children had the opportunity to pitch a tent, carry a real hiking backpack and poles. In addition to the important practical things they learned to survive in the forest, the children had the opportunity to make their own unique forest card to give to mom and dad at the end of the day. "Our work with children is extremely energizing and I hope that more and more parents and teachers will seek us out to get the kids used to spending more time in nature, and not in front of computers," commented Neli Serafimova. She also said that she will soon prepare a new lesson about the plants found in the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, and the lesson will be aimed at older students, but the information will be presented in an interesting and entertaining way.
