With a dance by second-graders, the forestry educators from the SIDP and DPP "Shumensko Plateau" were welcomed at the 2nd Primary School "Dr. Petar Beron" in Shumen. This is part of the school's policy to conduct various activities, including lessons in Forest Pedagogy. The children participated in the lesson "Trust the Forester" and learned more about the forestry profession and the care of forests. The activity, in which nearly 200 children participated, improved their knowledge about useful and harmful activities in nature.
The lesson "Trust the Forester" was created especially for this year's Forest Week. The classes began at the end of February and, due to the great interest from teachers in schools, continue to be conducted by forest educators from the SIDP, DPP "Shumensko Plato", DGS Provadia, DGS Targovishte and DLS-Balchik. So far, children from schools in Shumen, Targovishte, Venets, Tervel, Provadia and Balchik have participated in the classes. A total of 1,744 children have completed the training.
