Over 400 children and young people participated in lessons conducted by employees of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve on the occasion of the Executive Forestry Agency's campaign called "Forest Classroom".
The campaign started with a hike to the Khan Krum rock monastery, in which 75 people participated. During the hike, the experts from the Park presented the activities of the Directorate and the specifics of the forestry profession. Unique representatives of the plant and animal world were also shown on site.



These were the topics of the lessons that the experts conducted with children and students of different ages at the Secondary School "John Exarch Bulgarian", Secondary School "P. Volov", Secondary School "Knyaz Boris I", Secondary School "Tr. Simeonov", Secondary School "Ilya R. Blaskov", Secondary School "Sava Dobroplodni", as well as first-graders from the school in the village of Ivanski. Students from grades 8 to 10 of the theological school NYUVVAB also received training in the forest classroom.
The tent of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve attracted great interest during the citywide happening on the occasion of Children's Day. Many children and parents attended the art workshop and forest games.
Interest in the campaign to promote the forestry profession and activities in the forests was also shown by interest clubs and children's clubs "Knowledge", "Smart Kids", "Why", etc.
The forest educators in the Park will continue to work with children throughout the summer. Classes will be held upon request of organized groups. Topics will be offered on the most common tree species, how to survive in the forest, forester for a day, and others, with an emphasis on outdoor activities.
