The Directorate of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park celebrates 45 years since its declaration together with friends and like-minded people. Guests of the celebration were the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Yanislav Yanchev, Mayor Hristo Hristov and his deputies Daniela Ruseva and Victoria Kovchazova, representatives of state and non-governmental organizations, schools, cultural institutes, friends and like-minded people who help maintain the infrastructure and protect plant and animal species.
The director of the park, Eng. Krasimir Hristov, expressed his gratitude and said: "In this relatively small area near the city we have unique biodiversity, enchanting caves and rock monasteries, cultural landmarks, wonderful conditions for hiking and cycling. All this is a natural gift, but also the work of generations of people who preserve this place. Today we want to thank everyone who cares for and cherishes the Shumen Plateau Natural Park." Deputy Minister Yanislav Yanchev delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Deputy Minister Miroslav Marinov and noted: "I am glad to see so many young people at your holiday. This gives me hope for the future."

On the occasion of the birthday, a new project for the improvement of the "Lion" area was announced. The idea is from an initiative committee composed of the journalist from Shumen TV Krasimir Kanchev, the chairman of the "Madarski Konnik" TD Angel Filipov and the municipal councilor Pavel Pavlov and Dobromir Draevo from the "Madarski Konnik" scout club. For this purpose, about 15,000 leva will be needed. A bank account has been opened with the "Madarski Konnik" TD as the holder to raise funds. According to the project, a shelter will be built and the area will be cleaned. The place is a favorite of Shumen residents, but it has been deserted for years. Mayor Hristo Hristov and the director of the "Shumensko Plato" PP supported the initiative. Albena Nedelcheva, director of the "Sava Dobroplodni" Secondary School, was the first to respond to the upcoming volunteer action, who stated that the students will help clean up the area.
The Directorate presented plaques for active cooperation and partnership to institutions, non-governmental organizations and schools. On the occasion of the birthday, former employees of the Directorate also received plaques. At the end of the celebration, the youngest friends of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve blew out the candles on the cake for the park's 45th birthday.
