200 children with a forest lesson in Tervel

Over 200 children from Tervel participated in a lesson on Forest Pedagogy organized by the director of the hunting estate in the city, Eng. Georgi Botev. All students from grades 1 to 4 of the “Yordan Yovkov” Secondary School participated in the lessons, which were conducted by forest educators from the Sofia Forest Service, the Shumensko Plateau Wildlife Sanctuary and the Provadia Wildlife Sanctuary. The children showed very good knowledge related to forest protection and afforestation. The little ones easily coped with the new game, determining which activities are related to logging and what we produce from wood and which ones with afforestation and what the young forest needs.

During the lessons, the forest educators told the children that thanks to foresters, Bulgaria is one of the greenest countries in Europe. In order for the school park to become a small oasis, during the Forest Week, new saplings donated by the DLS-Tervel team will be planted in it.

Today's lessons are part of the initiatives related to the upcoming Forest Week, which this year will be held from April 3-9.
