Shumen Plateau Public Garden receives donation for repairs on its birthday

3875 leva were collected and donated for the renovation of the park infrastructure in the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve in the "Choose to Help" campaign. The initiative was launched at the end of last year and through it, for the 13th time in a row, funds are being raised for a total of 16 significant causes throughout the country in the areas of healthcare, social activities, culture and education, and environmental protection. 500 leva of the funds for the Park were donated by an individual, and the rest were collected by the employees of Raiffeisenbank - the institution organizing the campaign.

On the Shumen Plateau, worn and broken infrastructure will be repaired in the areas of the Forest School, the Fairy Tale Trail and the rock monasteries. “Priority will be given to work on facilities that pose a danger to visitors. Such as the bridge on the Fairy Tale Trail and one of the safety ropes on the rock monasteries,” said Eng. Vasil Vassilev, director of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve. Repairs to signs and facilities at the Forest School are also planned, as well as cleaning.

The deadline for the fundraising campaign is February 5. This date marks the 42nd anniversary of the creation of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park. The declaration of 3,896 hectares as a protected area in 1980 aims to preserve valuable plant and animal species, the plateau landscape, and places suitable for recreation and tourism.
