Nearly 40 children from the "Dreamers" preschool in Varna chose the "Shumen Plateau" nature park to celebrate Earth Day. Forest educators presented the wild inhabitants of the park in a fun way, as well as the most common tree species. The most impressive for the children were the animals and birds in the forest, presented in the interactive games in the Summer Information Center.
The little nature lovers participated in fun games, with each child making their own spring tree. The experts emphasized the protection of forests from pollution by packaging waste.
This year's Earth Day theme is "Planet Against Plastic." More than 1 billion people in 192 countries are taking part in various activities, making it the largest celebration in the world. The call is for a collective commitment from governments, institutions, businesses and citizens to tackle the plastic crisis by reducing plastic production by 60% by 2040 and building a plastic-free future, because recycling alone is no longer enough.
