A public lecture on the topic "Space and Man" will show how high technologies are applied in the mastery of space and how they affect the everyday life and future of man. The event, in which the Shumen Plateau State Enterprise is a partner, will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Shumen Youth Center. The lecture is dedicated to the real application of science, technology and innovation in aviation and space and how achievements affect security, industry, everyday life and the future of man. Participants will share practical experience and first-hand knowledge - from the development of satellites and space technologies to preparing for life and work in extreme conditions. The speakers are representatives of the Bulgarian Navy - Fleet Admiral Prof. Boyan Mednikarov and part of the crew of the Bulgarian military research ship "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", which served the Bulgarian missions in Antarctica, Raycho Raychev - founder and executive director of EnduroSat, a project expert at NASA, who will present the Bulgarian participation in the development and launch of satellites, the opportunity for internship programs. Lyudmila Filipova - writer, astrophysicist and founder of the company ANTARTA, engaged in the development of food for space missions, will also share her experience, revealing how science and entrepreneurship meet in extreme conditions. The "Bishop K. Preslavski" University of Applied Sciences will present remotely controlled telescopes at the Astronomical Center. .
The event is a continuation of the successful educational initiative - the public lecture "A Story of Fire and Ice".The forum is organized by Dr. Vladimir Yolov, Chairman of the Commission "European Projects, International Cooperation and Interaction with Non-Governmental Organizations" at the General Assembly - Shumen, together with the Youth House Shumen, Shumen Television, Shumen Plateau Nature Park, Regional History Museum - Shumen, Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski", Regional Library "Stiliyan Chilingirov", Association "United for Shumen", Foundation "Improve", Municipal Youth Council Shumen, Bulgarian National Radio - Shumen, BTA - Shumen, Slavic Society Shumen, Dance Club "Gaitani", Club "Culture for Shumen".
