"Forest Academy for Politicians" will be held in the Shumen Plateau Nature Park on the occasion of the Forest Week. This year we celebrate 100 years since the first celebration of the professional holiday of foresters, and the motto is "A century of eternity in creation, preservation and care!". Municipal councilors from the Shumen Municipal Council have been invited to participate in the Forest Academy for Politicians. On Sunday, April 6, at 10 a.m., they will join a hike, during which they will be introduced to the flora, fauna and activities in the Park. A visit to the "Biserna" cave is also planned.
On Wednesday, April 9th, at 9:30 a.m., students from the City Student Parliament and the Shumen Children's Parliament will participate in a quiz and debates on the topic "A Century of Eternity in Preservation and Care." The quiz will be competitive and a winning team will be announced.
The festive program also includes lessons in Forest Pedagogy with students from schools in Shumen and Novi Pazar, in which forest educators from Northeastern Bulgaria will participate. Employees of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve will participate in afforestation organized by the Shumen State Forestry Service. Traditionally, a joint cleaning campaign will be held around natural landmarks in the Park with the Shumen State Forestry Service.
The celebrations on the occasion of the Week of the Forest will end on Saturday, April 12, with an art campaign to refresh the benches in the forest park "Kyoskovete". The campaign is being carried out with the support of the Municipality of Shumen. The benches will be painted by students and young people from the Secondary School "P.Volov", Secondary School "Sava Dobroplodni", ODK-TSPLR, Municipal Youth Council, Foundation "Podobri".
The events marking the 100th anniversary of Forest Week began at the beginning of the year, with foresters from all over the country promoting their activities and the importance of forests and afforestation. Through these initiatives, we pay tribute to all those who have contributed to the development of forestry in Bulgaria.
