Restrictions on access to Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve lifted

The restrictive measures and the ban on access to forest areas within the boundaries of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve are lifted. The measures were introduced after tourists filmed a large predator, identified as a black leopard. According to the analysis of the established Temporary Crisis Headquarters, there is no definitive data that the predator is currently on the territory of the Park. Observations will continue with mobile teams of the RDG-Shumen, SIDP-Shumen, and the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, and teams of the ODMVR - Shumen will patrol the asphalt roads. The cage trap for capturing the large predator remains in Shumen for a certain period of time.

Information signs have been placed warning of the possible appearance of a predator. Access to the forest areas is free, but at your own risk. It is recommended that visits be made during daylight hours, in groups if possible. If someone spots the predator, they should not make noise, not make sudden movements, and carefully retreat in another direction, without shouting.
