Volunteers from the Rotary Club of Shumen are transforming an overgrown path into a bat sanctuary. The new vision is the result of hard work by the club members, and the space will be used for entertaining games for children, where they can learn more about flying mammals. Along the path there are signs with bats and their food, which the little ones will have to find.
The idea for the “Bat Trail” is being implemented with the assistance of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve and is another joint initiative of the club and the management. Traditionally, a number of events and lessons related to the unique protected species are held in October. There are mainly 14 species of bats found on the territory of the Park.
Thank you for your hard work and efforts! Together we work for the children of Shumen!
