Biserna Cave opens for visitors from April 2, Wednesday. Entry is ONLY by prior appointment. Applications are accepted on weekdays by calling 054/800 765. Working hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are closed. Entry hours during the week are 10 a.m., 11.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on holidays and weekends tourists will be accepted from 10 a.m., 11.30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively.
We remind you again that visitors should wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing, as the temperature in the cave is 10 degrees Celsius and the humidity is 100%. The route inside is about 800 meters long in one direction. It is not recommended to bring pets and small children.
The Biserna Cave can be reached on foot. Vehicles can be parked on the asphalt road before the turn for the villa of the Shumen Municipality. There are two walking routes – from the Kyoshkave Park – “A Lesson on the Forest Path” and from the junction for the Stariya Grad Fortress on the road to the villa of the Shumen Municipality. Signs are placed along all routes.
Nearly 4,000 tourists annually manage to visit Biserna Cave despite the seasonal restrictions, which were introduced to protect the cave's inhabitants - bats. There are 14 species found in the cave.
