A hike to the Kostadinov Monastery above the village of Osmar is organized by the Directorate of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve on Sunday, June 23. The initiative is dedicated to the Midsummer Day holiday of herbs and is being held at the request of the citizens and due to the great interest in visiting the rock monastery.
The hike will start at 10 am, and the meeting point is the restaurant "Stykloto", which is located in the area of the Shumen Fortress. No prior registration is required, the hike is free. The hike lasts about 5 hours in both directions, including breaks. We recommend that tourists stock up on water and food and wear suitable shoes.
Along the route, experts from the Park will show interesting specimens of the plant world and tell the story of the rock monasteries on the Shumen plateau.
The route to the Kostadinov Monastery above the village of Osmar is marked with green and white markings. Above it is the emblematic rock phenomenon "The Eye", considered one of the most energetic places in the region.
