Shumen Plateau Nature Park turns 46

On February 5, 1980, the Shumen plateau was declared a protected area. A directorate to manage the park was established in 1992 with one employee, whose office was located in the Regional Forestry Department. 46 years after its declaration, the park has two information centers, an observatory, 6 main and 4 thematic routes have been established. 11 shelters and numerous places for recreation have been made for tourists. The Forest School and the Forest Labyrinth are favorite places for activities with children.
The Shumen Plateau National Park celebrates the holiday with an open day. Students from the Shumen University „Ep. Konstantin Preslavski“ visited. They toured the Summer Center and the Administrative Center of the park and were introduced to the activities that take place there. The observatory and planetarium impressed the guests with the high level of technology and facilities.
