Shumen Plateau Nature Park turns 43

43 years since the establishment of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park are being celebrated today. 3,896 ha of the Shumen Plateau were declared a protected area on February 5, 1980 in order to preserve the valuable plant and animal species, the plateau landscape and places suitable for recreation and tourism.

The birthday was celebrated together with the Shumen Scout Club "Kresliv orel". At the Park Information Center, the cubs and older scouts participated in interactive games and learned more about the flora, fauna and protected species in the territory. On the occasion of the holiday, the young people made and gave away special houses that show who should take care of the protection of nature. Together, they decided to place the houses in the most visited places by tourists, such as shelters, to remind us that nature should not be polluted and that we are all responsible for its protection. The scouts promised to help renew the markings on the routes and to participate in clearing the paths. Thank you for the gifts and willingness to help!

For the Park employees, the day turned out to be not only a holiday, but also a work day. A fallen tree that was blocking the road in the area of the "Grave of the Course Students" shelter was removed.

Happy holiday to all nature lovers! Happy holiday to the people who have put in the effort over the years so that we can enjoy our wonderful Park today!
