The Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve is looking for patrons of the main tourist routes in the Park. "We will cooperate with our future partners in maintaining the marked trails," said the director of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, Eng. Vasil Vassilev. The Nature Park has 7 main hiking routes, 4 thematic routes, 3 cycling routes and a rock climbing route. The Ilchov Bair Cycling Club has already confirmed that they will continue to maintain the marked cycling trails. Rotary - Shumen has expressed a desire to be patrons of the "Magic of the Forest" hiking route, which passes near the highest point of the Shumen Plateau - Tarnov Tabia. Rotary - Shumen has wanted to promote the place for years, they have put up an information sign and in the spring the access to it is due to be cleared.
A process has also begun to renew agreements with companies, sports clubs and non-governmental organizations for the maintenance of shelters in the Park. The patrons include Temenuga Agricultural Company, Uspeh Agricultural Company, Avtostroitel Agricultural Company, Detelina Agricultural Company, a children's playground "Sun" in the area of the Monument "Creators of the Bulgarian State", a recreation area near the Shumen Fortress. "We are ready to sign a partnership agreement with everyone who wants to help in the preservation and maintenance of the park infrastructure," said the director of the Shumen Plateau State Park, Eng. Vasil Vassilev.

The initiative "Become a Patron" was launched on the occasion of the birthday of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve. The park was established on February 5, 1980 to preserve biodiversity, habitats, plateau landscape and places suitable for recreation and tourism. On an area of 3895.8 ha, 550 species of higher plants, 28 species of mammals, 71 species of birds, 14 species of reptiles and 6 species of amphibians are found. The Bukaka reserve with an area of 62 ha is also located within the boundaries of the Park.
