Fun competition "I love the forest!"

Forest educators from the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve continue the lessons dedicated to the Forest Week, April 4-10. Fourth-graders from the Panayot Volov Secondary School in Shumen learned which are the most common tree species in the nature park and which are the main concepts that foresters use to describe the constituent plant parts of the forest. The children learned why dead trees are needed and which are the pests and beneficial insects. All this knowledge was tested through a competitive game in which the teams had to arrange a puzzle of leaves and determine the types of insects. The most fun for the kids from the Green Patrols club was the task of throwing a pine cone at a target. The forest holiday ended with the motto of this year's initiatives on the occasion of the Forest Week - "I love the forest!". The lessons with students and kindergarten children will continue. Events related to cleaning and replacing signs in the Park are also planned.
