Forestry officers from Shumen caught a poacher who shot a young roe deer on the territory of the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve. The violation was detected over the weekend after a forest inspector from the Regional Forestry Directorate - Shumen received a signal of poaching in the area for which he is responsible. Although he was on vacation, the officer undertook a tour of the forest territory to track down the hunter. After hearing gunshots, he decided to contact a mobile team of the Shumen Forestry Directorate.
Through joint actions, the inspectors identified the offender, and later the shot animal. After further searching the area and following the animal's tracks, the inspectors determined that the deer had been killed within the park.
A report was filed with the Shumen Regional Office of the Ministry of Interior. The offender was detained.
