Forest educators from the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve conducted a lesson titled "Winter in the Forest" with the students of the Natural Sciences clubs at the Sava Dobroplodni Secondary School. The fourth-graders learned how to practically recognize coniferous tree species and demonstrated knowledge about the ways in which forest dwellers survive in winter. The forest educators supplemented the children's knowledge with the history of the Shumen Plateau, which was unforested at the beginning of the last century, and presented the profession of a forester. The fun activity continued with the making of Christmas cards that recreate the children's idea of the winter forest and its inhabitants.
