THE WARM HOLE

It is located 1.5 km. from the center of the village of Troitsa. It is 16 m long, elevation difference – 4 m. Dry cave. Its entrance is 50 m from the rock monolith near Momina Skala, which is a narrow opening under a large stone. It is called “Warm Hole” because of warm air currents, which are felt inside, and in winter they melt the snow around the cave opening.

Remains of an ancient building and fragments of ceramics were found in the area, and Momina Skala is a single monolith over 10 m high. Legend has it that in order to save herself from the Turkish enslavers, the maiden Paraskeva jumped from the cliff and ended her life.
