Over 100 children from the Izvorche Kindergarten took part today in the forest festival organized by employees of the Social Development and Development Center, the Shumen Kindergarten, the Shumen Plateau Nature Reserve, the Shumen Regional Forestry and the Bishop Konstantin Preslavski Kindergarten. During the fun-filled hour, the children learned to recognize coniferous and deciduous trees, as well as which animals are most common in Bulgarian forests. However, the most interesting thing for everyone was the afforestation in the yard of the kindergarten. Eng. Krasimir Nikolaev explained to the children how toThe tree needs to be placed so that it can grow. The children promised to take care of the saplings.
The events on the occasion of the Forest Week in Shumen continue. Two acres of poplar were afforested by employees of the State Forestry Service-Shumen and students of the specialty "Ecology and Plant Protection" headed by Dr. Maria Kaschieva. The action took place in the land of the village of Ovcharovo. After the end of the afforestation, the foresters cleaned the area from household waste scattered in the surrounding area. Next week, at the request of Daria Georgieva, 20 deciduous saplings will be afforested in the Animal Shelter in Shumen, so that the area can become more welcoming and the dogs can be protected from the summer sun.
The Forest School will continue to operate after April 7, when the Forest Week officially ends. The teachers have prepared many more activities for the children from Shumen district, and teachers who want the foresters to visit their class can express their desire by calling 0878/596-860.
